The easiest way to get to Casa McMullen from the airport is by taxi.
Here’s how it works: After collecting your luggage, exit through the sliding doors into a “timeshare shark” area — a hallway withpeople with people asking questions that can you ignore.Exit through the next set of sliding doors where you will be in the airport exit area. There will be a lot of people waiting to greet passengers and you will see a couple of airport-sanctioned taxi kiosks. There, you give them your address (Vista del Sol in Zona Romantica). Vista del Sol is in Zone II and the rate is approximately $286 pesos, or about $16 for up to three people. This is for a single, unshared cab.
Once you pay the attendant at the window, you’ll take your voucher out to one of the cab supervisors — they are in abundance just outside the exit — and he will get your cab for you. The process is fairly quick and very easy.
If your cab driver doesn’t know the building, you can say it’s across the street from Molino de Agua, but truthfully, our building is quite well known. Important note: if the driver doesn’t seem to know the location – i.e., he’s asking other drivers for directions – feel free to ask the supervisor to get you a driver who knows where Vista del Sol is.
If you are concerned about the cab, you can reserve a car service although it will be not too different from your cab experience and the price will be a bit higher. You may get info on airport transfers here.
Check-In is a Breeze
We’ll be ready for you! When you arrive at Vista del Sol, all you need to do is present your name at the front desk and let them know that you are staying at Casa McMullen. The attendant will have you complete a check-in card and give you your keys. The bellman will offer to take your bags to your room. Tipping for assistance with bags is customary and about $10 pesos a bag – but no more than $50 pesos – is adequate.
